Growing up in a small town in Germany, I was fortunate to experience two cultures from an early age. With a German mother and a Turkish father, I regularly traveled between Germany and Turkey, gaining insight into different ways of life and the role culture and education play in shaping a child’s perspective.

My passion for working with children led me to become a preschool teacher, where I experienced firsthand how young minds learn and begin to understand the world around them. Watching children explore new ideas, gain confidence, and build meaningful relationships deepened my interest in early childhood education.

Wanting to broaden my horizons, I later moved to the United States as an au pair and continued my studies in California while working with young children. These experiences introduced me to different educational approaches and reinforced my belief in the importance of curiosity, emotional intelligence, and a love of learning.

Over the years, my travels across Europe, North America, Central America, South America, and North Africa exposed me to a rich variety of cultures and perspectives. Combined with my background in education, these experiences became the inspiration for Carl and Teddy.

Through their adventures, I hope to help children discover the world with curiosity and openness, develop empathy, and build confidence. While each story is set in a different country and incorporates unique aspects of its culture, the heart of every adventure lies in the emotional and social skills children develop along the way—because every child has the potential to learn, grow, and thrive when given the opportunity to explore.
